Under these almost infinite forms, an expression by Roland Barthes borrowed to title this collection of essays dedicated to the theme of narration, amounts to a declaration of intent: the studies gathered here – united by a heuristic, analytical and wide-ranging investigative aspiration in the field of narrative – have been selected with an eye to the heterogeneity of the disciplines, methodologies and forms investigated.
Essays from the fields of literature, philosophy, theatre and cinema are thus juxtaposed: from the comparison of specific narratologies and the dialogue between research methods, a composite, fervid panorama emerges, which finds an opportunity to be restored in all its complexity precisely by this interdisciplinary dimension.
